Abstract

The article analyzes the evolution of the influence of the Truman doctrine on Turkish-American interaction from the point of view of the formation of a new international world order. The reasons of the consequences and the international situation for Turkey’s accession to NATO in 1952 are analyzed. The author focuses on the relations of the NATO bloc with Turkey and other Western countries, taking into account the rapidly changing international relations. Changes in Turkey’s foreign policy are considered on the example of the Suez Canal in 1956 as part of NATO. The author comes to the conclusion that the reckless foreign policy of the USSR prompted the Turkish Republic to move to the side of the Western allies, thereby radically changing the map of geopolitical events in the Middle East. Since the signing of the treaty with NATO in 1952, Turkey has been a conductor of US political interests and espionage in the Balkans and the Middle East.
