Abstract

The article analyzes the concepts of Russian scientists in relation to protectionism. The author comes to the conclusion that the delay in the process of modernization of Russia has provided Russian economists with an opportunity to objectively assess the world experience related to freedom of trade and the state policy of protecting national interests. This, in turn, contributed to the formation of a stable view of protectionism, considered as an integral component of state intervention in the regulation of foreign economic activity in the context of dialectical unity. This approach ultimately determined the unique position of Russian thinkers in global economic thought.
