Abstract

The article assesses the place of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the policy of the Russian Federation in Central Asia. The current domestic political situation in the republic, the main trends characteristic of the country’s development in 2022-2023 are analyzed. The Russian-Uzbek economic cooperation, trends that have identified themselves in this area after the beginning of the current phase of the geopolitical confrontation between Russia and the Western bloc are considered separately. The ongoing global economic and geopolitical turbulence creates not only problems, but also new opportunities to intensify cooperation between Moscow and Tashkent on a wide range of issues.
