Статья посвящена анализу политики Китая в Латинской Америке на примере китайско-панамских отношений. В 2017 г. президент Панамы Хуан Карлос Варела разорвал дипломатические отношения с Тайванем и признал КНР единственным законным представителем всего Китая. Вслед за этим страны инициировали ряд громких инфраструктурных проектов, которые должны были быть реализованы китайскими компаниями в рамках инициативы «Один пояс – один путь». В статье приводится анализ развития взаимодействия между Китаем и Панамой в 2017–2021 гг., а также рассматриваются факторы сближения и охлаждения их отношений. Особый акцент сделан на исследовании реализации основных китайских проектов в Панаме.

The article is devoted to the analysis of China’s policy in Latin America on the example of China-Panama relations. In 2017, President of Panama Juan Carlos Varela severed diplomatic relations with Taiwan and recognized the PRC as the sole legitimate representative of all of China. Following this, countries initiated a series of high-profile infrastructure projects to be implemented by Chinese companies as part of the Belt and Road Initiative. The article provides an analysis of the development of interaction between China and Panama in 2017–2021 and considers the factors of rapprochement and cooling of relations. Particular emphasis is placed on the study of the implementation of the main Chinese projects in Panama.
