Актуальность исследования состоит в том, что целостный городской организм имеет значительную важность для удовлетворения потребностей жителей города. Статья посвящена границам Москвы в разные периоды нашей истории. Выявлена специфичность принципов формообразования составных частей структуры Москвы, связанная с пространственными и функциональными свойствами вбираемых в себя отдельных поселений. Развитие жизненных потребностей привело к изменению назначения границ с разделительного на соединительное.

The relevance of this study lies in the fact that a holistic urban organism is crucial for meeting the needs of city residents. The article examines Moscow’s boundaries at different periods in its history. It reveals the specific principles underlying the formation of Moscow’s constituent parts, linked to the spatial and functional properties of the individual settlements it encompasses. The evolution of vital needs has led to a shift in the purpose of boundaries from dividing to connecting.
